Student ID card

CNU issues Multifunctional Student ID to all international, exchange, and visiting students. All international students can apply for the student ID upon receipt of alien registration card, which takes around 1 month after the submission of alien card application form.

How to Apply (New students)

  • Documents to be submitted : Application form (in the Student Affairs Office), alien card, 1 photo (3 x 4 cm)
  • Where : Student Affairs Office (Room 111, E7 building)

Functions

  • Student verification
  • Electronic class attendance check / College buidling entry
  • Electronic card payment (in on-campus cafeterias and shops)
  • Book check-out at the library
  • Transportation card (T-money) : Students can use the card to pay for bus or subway fares. The card must be prepaid and charged at designated
  • convenience stores (Family Mart and GS25).
  • International student ID (optional, by request) : This function can be added by request. Request should be made as following : http://www.cnu.ac.kr/~mcard → Click “국제학생증신청” → Log in to CNU IIS (Integrated Information System) → Enter International Student ID Service homepage (http://www.isic.co.kr/kises/) and submit request → Vist Hana bank (Chungnam University branch) → Attach sticker in the back of valid student ID
  • Debit card (optional, by request) : Student can use the card to deposit and withdraw money from their bank account. It can be also used to charge for the purchases off-campus. This function can be added into the student ID after opening bank account in Hana bank located in the student hall 1 (W8-2).

Reissuance of ID card

  • In case of lost

    http://www.cnu.ac.kr/~mcard → Click "학생증분실신고 및 재발급신청” (Report lost card and apply for reissuance) → http://www.cnu.ac.kr/~mcard (Enter ID-student No. and Password - last 7 digit of alien card) → report lost card → pay reissuance fee (5,000 won) at the Hana bank of CNU branch → Submit payment receipt and ID to the student affairs office (Room 111, E7)

  • In case of malfunction with MS Bar or IC Chip of the student card:

    Visit Hana bank of CNU branch → Verification of malfunction by the bank → Visit Student Affairs office with ID card → Reissue
