Global Scholarship Program

Global Scholarship Program (GSP) is an ideal scholarship program for those who would like to broaden their perspective in Korean culture and life style. It offers valuable opportunities for international students from overseas to have a better understanding of korean language and social customs through academic lectures.

Eligibility

  • Undergraduate & graduate students from CNU partner universities
  • Nomination from student's home university
  • Competency in English or Korean enough to understand lectures taught in English or Korean
  • Strong will and interest in learning Korea

Program Outline

Program Period (1 semester, 4 months)

  • Spring 2017 : March 2 - June 20, 2017
  • Fall 2017 : September 1 - December 26, 2017

Registration of academic courses conducted either in Korean or English ( 3 ~ 18 credits)

  • Credits at CNU are transferable under the regulations of participants' home university.

Optional Korean classes (Intensive or Free Evening)

  • Intensive : 200 hours for 10 weeks
  • Free Evening Class: 60 hours for 10 weeks

Benefits

  • Exemption from tuition at CNU
  • Free on-campus accommodation with meals (Double or triple room, 2 meals a day from Mon through Fri)
  • One time scholarship (KRW 500,000 - 1,000,000)
  • Discounted fees for the Intensive Korean Language Class (KRW 650,000) (Optional)
  • CNU Buddy Program

Applicaiton Requirements

Before Admission

  • CNU Inbound Exchange/Visiting Student Application
  • Certificate of Enrollment
  • Official Transcript
  • Recommendation Letter
  • Passport Copy
  • One Photo (3.5 cm X 4.5cm, color photo of face, front view, on plain white background, taken within the past 6 months)
  • Bank Statement (To certify that students can afford study abroad expenses in Korea)

After Admission

  • Certificate of Health
  • Inbound Participation Agreements (3-page)
  • Insurance Copy (This must cover overseas damage.)
  • Arrival Form

Applications must be sent via the international office of applicant's university.

Visa

  • Exchange students need to hold a D-2-6 Student Visa for the purpose of study in Korea for 1-2 semesters.
  • CNU will give the Confirmation of Visa Issuance to successful students, so they can apply for the visa only with passport copy, visa application with application fee, and others that may be required to submit by the nearest Korea Embassy or Consulate.
